New Year's Dental Resolutions!
While everyone is still in a New Year's Resolution mindset, just a reminder that your oral health is a reflection of your overall health and taking care of your mouth is as important as regular exercise and a healthy diet. Here are a few suggestions for better dental health in 2016:
1. If you use a manual brush, upgrade to an electric. Even a battery-powered drugstore Spinbrush model will make a big difference! 2. Floss daily -- even flossing every other day has been linked with less inflammation in the body. Inflammation is one of the causes of heart disease. 3. When you brush, be sure it's for AT LEAST two minutes. An electric brush with a quadrant timer can help with this enormously. 4. If you know you grind your teeth, make an appointment to come in and be fitted with a bite splint. This inexpensive preventative can save many hundreds of dollars in dental costs in the long run that result from bruxism, such as cracked molars.
