Donate to Puerto Rico Fundraiser

A quick reminder about our fundraising drive for Puerto Rico, which runs through Thanksgiving. We are suggesting donations to the Hispanic Federation, which will allow you to direct any funds given to Puerto Rico Hurricane relief, specifically.

Facts about PR:

Puerto Rico is U.S. territory of 3.4 million people and its residents are American citizens by birth. Its natural environmental features include a landscape of mountains, waterfalls and the El Yunque tropical rainforest. Its Old San Juan neighborhood features colorful Spanish colonial buildings and El Morro and La Fortaleza, massive, centuries-old fortresses.

There are many people of Puerto Rican descent living in the Detroit area and throughout the U.S., and Puerto Rican culture has influenced the mainland significantly in such areas as art, music, food and sports -- baseball in particular.
