Dental Insurance News

Fall is in the air, and that means cider mills, crunching leaves, pumpkins, and of course…open enrollment. The last one may not be as fun to think about as the other three, but with all the excitement fall and the holiday season bring, it’s easy to forget how important insurance benefit enrollment is for the coming year. If you have questions regarding the different dental plans you are being offered, please feel free to contact our office. We will do our best to help you choose a plan that is right for you and your family. Another excellent resource for understanding the difference between types of plans is dentalinsurance.com. Once on the site, simply click on Dental Plans for more information.

When you enroll in or renew your dental insurance plan, be sure to take note of the specific coverages offered, as they may differ from what you’ve been accustomed to in the past. The big changes to we’ve noted as of late concern deductibles and co-pays. These changes appear to include both medical and dental insurance. Co-pays are becoming more expensive, and procedures that used to be covered are no longer available, while deductibles which were usually only applied to basic and major coverage are now being charged on preventive care in some policies. Carefully read the fine print so you know where you stand.

Because of these changes in the insurance industry, and the rising cost of dental and medical care in general, many family budgets are being strained. Since health care has become so much more expensive, we want to make sure our patients know about a health care credit card called Care Credit. This is a revolving credit card that you can use at many medical, dental and veterinary offices, including ours. Care Credit also offers 3 and 6 month no-interest plans for larger charges. If you have any questions, call us at 734-677-2156 or check out Care Credit online for more information.

With all of these big decisions to make regarding insurance, if you ever have questions or need any help, always feel free to contact us so we may assist you in deciphering the many different options available. As a family practice, we understand every dollar counts, and we’ll help you make the best decision for you, your family, and your budget so you are able to get the care you need.
