Dash Professional Whitening
Dr. Kotre is pleased to offer Dash professional in-office whitening to her patients. DASH is the latest professional whitening offering from ZOOM dental, one of the most trusted names in cosmetic dentistry. Dash whitening doesn’t require a light or laser to activate the whitening process, and whitening can be accomplished in under an hour. Dash whitening is only available in a dentist’s office, and uses a new 30% hydrogen peroxide whitening gel.
For those who have experienced increased sensitivity after a whitening procedure, each treatment also comes with a sensitivity-relief gel. The gel, called Relief ACP, contains amorphous calcium phosphate, potassium nitrate, and fluoride, ingredients proven to be both beneficial to teeth and excellent at helping to relieve sensitivity.
Dash offers excellent whitening results, simply and quickly; however, it’s important to note that Dash whitening achieves the best results on yellow and brown tooth stains. Teeth with gray shading caused by tetracycline or other medications may respond to Dash treatment, but these types of stains in general do not whiten as easily as others. During your Dash consultation, Dr. Kotre will discuss realistic expectations for the type of whitening results you will likely have with treatment.
Whitening treatment with Dash is a fairly simple process. Dr. Kotre and her staff will clean your teeth to prepare the surface for whitening. Gums are then retracted and cotton rolls used where necessary to avoid contact with the whitening gel. A shade guide will then be used to record the pre-whitening shade of your teeth.
Once your mouth has been prepared for treatment, a whitening accelerator is applied for 15 minutes. Once the accelerator has taken effect, Dash whitening gel is applied and left in place for an additional 15 minutes, after which time it is removed with suction and gauze pads. Depending on the type of results desired, the cycle of whitening gel application and removal can be repeated twice after the initial whitening is completed. The shade guide is then used again to measure the results of the whitening treatment.
