Chlorine Can Discolor Teeth

As swimming season nears, a reminder that chlorine can be hard on your teeth!

Many people enjoy cooling off with a dip in the pool on a hot summer day. However, too much time in the pool can mean yellowish brown teeth, often called "swimmer's calculus."

The teeth's enamel becomes discolored by overexposure to chlorine in pool water. If you are noticing that your or your children's teeth have become excessively yellowed over the summer, be sure to book an appointment for a cleaning to take care of the discoloration.
