Meet Dr. Tawakkol

Dr. Sarah Shoukr, DDS, was welcomed to our practice in September of 2019. "Dr. Sarah" was
born in Tucson, AZ while her dad was obtaining his PhD in Engineering. At age three, her family
moved back to their home country Egypt where she grew up. She decided to move back to the
USA with her husband in 2010.
After earning her Bachelor’s degree of Dentistry and Oral Surgery in 2008, she provided dental
care to low-income families in Egypt for 2 years. When she moved to the States, Dr. Sarah
worked as a Dental Assistant/Orthodontic assistant while raising her firstborn daughter and
passing the National Board Dental Examinations Part 1 and Part 2.

She earned her DDS degree at the University of Michigan in 2018, ranking in the top 15
students of her class. While completing her clinical work, she also volunteered at Give
Kids a Smile Clinic (treating pediatric patients for free), Mouth Guard Clinic (free mouth
guards for sports players), Taft Clinic (free preventive and restorative care), Special
Olympics (screening special-needs athletes) and providing oral health education to kids
at a daycare facility.

young as 3 years old to great grandmas! She always treats every patient as if it was her
own family member.
Dr. Sarah and her husband, George, have been married for 11 years and are grateful to
live in Ann Arbor with their two daughters: Rebecca (a 2nd

-grader at St. Francis of Assisi

with her family, outdoor activities, biking, cooking and travelling.
